2 Corinthians 3:4-6 And we have such trust through
Christ toward God. Not that we are sufficient of
ourselves to think of anything as being from
ourselves but our sufficiency is from God, who also
made us sufficient as ministers of the “New Covenant” not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life! Amen!
The Spirit causes that which was dead and inoperative in us to become alive. He quickens us and causes us to LIVE! He Empowers us with Divine Life!
Paul had no self confidence in what he could do. His confidence was in the power and sufficiency of the Holy Spirit Who was graciously supplied to him; Who gives Life and empowers believers to live for Christ and serve Him.
The wonderful Holy Spirit is “The Gift” and “The Promise” of God in the New Covenant of Grace. He is the Gift who comes with inward working transforming power.
Acts 2:38 On the Day of Pentecost: Peter replied, “Each of you must repent of your sins and turn to God, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. Then you will receive the Gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 ”This Promise” is to YOU and to YOUR CHILDREN, and even to the Gentiles, TO ALL who have been called by the Lord our God.”
BRIEF REVIEW:
The Bible teaches that there are two very separate and distinct experiences of the Holy Spirit in a believer’s life.

1. There is a “Born Again” experience by the Holy Spirit called regeneration. This gives you Spiritual Life in God and makes you a New Creature in Christ.
2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away; behold, the new has come into being. You are born
from above. You are born of God! You become a new person in Christ! You are
what the Bible calls “Saved.” And the Holy Spirt comes to indwell you personally and permanently!
1 John 5 Everyone who believes Jesus is the Christ is born of God...(the second birth).
John 3:3 Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is “born again” he can not see the kingdom of God.
John 3:5 Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I tell you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the Kingdom of God,
John 3:6 Flesh is born of flesh, and spirit is born of Spirit. Do not be amazed that I say, You must be born again.
The Holy Spirit Remains With and In You Forever!
John 14:16 And I will pray the Father and He will give you another Helper and
He will abide (remain) with you FOREVER.
John 14:17 “For He dwells with you and WILL BE “IN YOU.”
1 Corinthians 6:19 Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy
Spirit WHO IS IN YOU, whom you have received from God? You are not your own...
2. There is a “Baptism with the Holy Spirit” like on the Day of Pentecost (Acts 2:
4-8) where the Holy Spirit is “poured out upon” you by Jesus Himself and is
most often evidenced with speaking in tongues or prophesy.
The Baptism with the Holy Spirit is a very definite experience after being “born again” whereby the Holy Spirit “comes upon” the believer to “empower”
him for the Christian life.
It is referred to as the Spirit “coming upon,” or being “poured out upon,” or a
“falling on” or “filling” the believer in a sudden and supernatural manner.
The wonderful ministry of the Holy Spirit as our “Comforter/Helper” who indwells all
believers (John 14:17), is greatly intensified as a result of the Baptism with the Holy Spirit.

Joel 2:28 “And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will “pour out” my Spirit on all flesh (mankind) and your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will
dream dreams, your young men will see visions, even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit.
Matthew 3:11 (John the Baptist) Indeed I baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will Baptize you with the Holy Spirit and Fire!
Jesus emphasized the importance of being Baptized with the Holy Spirit.
Acts 1:4,5 “While being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to leave Jerusalem, but to wait for what the Father had Promised, of which He said,” you have heard Me speak. For John baptized with water, but you will be Baptized with the Holy Spirit, not long from now. (10 days after his ascension) 8But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has “come upon you,” and you will
be My witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
The purpose is for a “greater empowering” of the Holy Spirit in your life to be His witness; to live for Him; and to fulfill God’s calling upon your life.
Acts 8: 12-21 AFTER STEPHAN’S DEATH PHILIP PREACHES IN SAMARIA
Acts 8 Philip... went down to Samaria to preach...People received Christ and were baptized in water. Now the apostles who were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the Word of God, they sent Peter and John to them and they prayed for
them that they might receive the Holy Spirit. For as yet He had “fallen upon” none of them.
10 YEARS AFTER PENTECOST: In Cornelius’ house...
Acts 10: 36-48 Cornelius, a military man, has an angelic visitation and was told to
send for Peter to share the plan of salvation. Cornelius invited his relatives and friends to hear Peter preach on salvation. While Peter was still speaking ... the Holy Spirit “Fell Upon” all those who heard the Word. ... the “ Gift of the Holy Spirit”

had been “poured out” on the Gentles. For they were speaking with tongues and magnifying God.
ABOUT 20 YEARS AFTER PENTECOST: With Paul in Ephesus
Acts 19:1, 6 ...Paul having passed through the upper country came to Ephesus, and found certain disciples: 2and he said unto them, Did ye receive the Holy Spirit when ye believed? And they said unto him, nay, we did not so much as hear whether the Holy Spirit was given. 6And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Spirit “came upon” them; and they spake with tongues, and
prophesied. 7And they were in all about twelve men.
Luke 11:13 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father GIVE THE HOLY SPIRIT TO THOSE WHO ASK HIM.
The amazing life changing difference between the Old Covenant and the New Covenant is that God Himself through the Holy Spirit takes permanent residence in
power in every believer. He enables and empowers the believer to be a an effective witness and fruitful servant for Christ.
The Holy Spirit enables you TO BECOME ALL and TO DO ALL that GOD IS CALLING YOU TO and ASKING YOU TO DO in Christ.
YOU ARE ANOINTED!
Because of the Holy Spirit’s presence in your life YOU ARE what the Bible calls “ANOINTED BY GOD!”
1 John 2:20 But you have “An Anointing” “From The Holy One” (you have been set apart, specially gifted, and prepared by the Holy Spirit) and all of you know....
1 John 2:27 As for you, The Anointing which you received from Him, remains (permanently in you and you have no need for anyone to teach you)

Definition of Anoint: Properly, to smear or to rub with oil (a hands on experience). Merriam-Webster: “to choose” by or as if by divine election.
We see this very clearly in the Old Testament. The “pouring of oil upon” a chosen one‘s head.
This “Anointing” with oil was very significant. This one is “Chosen” by God and the pouring of oil represents the out pouring of the Holy Spirit’s presence upon his
life for empowerment to accomplish that for which he has been chosen for. In the O.T. “THE ANOINTED ONE” was prophesied to come.
God’s repeatedly revealed to His people in the Old Testament that a “mashiakh-Heb.”
or “Messiah” which means The “Anointed” would come and rule forever on the throne of David.
Acts 3:18 .... Peter preached this on Pentecost ... GOD foretold by the mouth of all the prophets, that “His Christ” (His Messiah, His Anointed) would suffer.
Jesus fulfills all prophecy and is “The Messiah” or “The Anointed One” or “The Christ.”
The Holy Spirit was so marvelously smeared upon the life of Jesus - that He had the Holy Spirit or Anointing without measure. ( John 3:34)
Jesus had the fullest measure of the Spirit in His life. The Fullest Anointing possible. The fullness of God was in and upon Him.
Colossians 1:19 For God was pleased to have ALL HIS FULLNESS dwell IN HIM... He was THE long awaited “ANOINTED ONE.”
This is important for us to grasp.
THIS IS GREAT NEWS FOR YOU AND ME!
When we receive JESUS the CHRIST in our heart we become SHARERS OR PARTAKERS OF THAT SAME “Christ” ANOINTING!

Psalm 133:2 For harmony is as precious as the anointing oil that was poured over Aaron's head, that ran down his beard and onto the border of his robe.
Christ, The Anointed One, is the head of His Body of Believers. His Anointing flows to each member of the body as the anointing oil of Aron flowed down his head.
We become partakers of His Anointing, His Holy Spirit.
Colossians 1:27... Christ in YOU (The Anointed One in you!), The Hope of Glory! You
are now a chosen one! Hallelujah a chosen one in Christ!
WE ARE ANOINTED OR CHOSEN .... to be “set apart” for GOD HIMSELF .... for holy living... For God’s service” and He empowers us with the Holy Ghost to fulfill His purpose, His call, His will and works for our lives.
PROBLEM AT LARGE IN THE CHURCH:
TOO MANY CHRISTIANS DO NOT SEE THEMSELVES AS ANOINTED by God or specially CHOSEN for anything ... or EMPOWERED, EQUIPPED, QUALIFIED, ENABLED or GIFTED by God for SPECIAL SERVICE (ministry); but the Truth is God has CHOSEN YOU IN CHRIST AND QUALIFIED, EQUIPPED, ENABLED and EMPOWERED YOU to fulfill His plan and will for your life.
He has INVESTED HIS LIFE IN YOU... HOW VALUABLE AND PRICELESS! THIS QUALIFIES YOU TO BE His child and to do what He has called you to do.
YOU now have DIVINE CREDENTIALS in CHRIST and You are on Divine Assignment! CREDENTIALS tell who you are and what you are qualified to do.
The Holy Spirit has certified you as a “Christ-ian” for the Christ-life and service. You are equipped to REPRESENT “The Anointed One.” To ACT in behave of and
SPEAK in behalf of The “Anointed” One. You are anointed and enabled, entrusted and empowered to accomplish God’s perfect will.
What weakens the Church:
Too many think only those behind the pulpit or behind a microphone or leading
worship or perhaps only the prophet or evangelist are the Anointed Ones.

But YOU who believe in Christ have “HIS SPIRIT or “HIS ANOINTING” in YOU and therefore You have been chosen TO BE FRUITFUL AND EFFECTIVE AND USEFUL in HIS KINGDOM.
2 Corinthians 1: 21,22 But it is God who establishes both us and you in Christ. (makes us stand firm) He has “anointed” us, 22 placed His “Seal” on us, and “put His Spirit in our hearts” as a deposit, “guaranteeing” what is to come.
The Holy Spirit as our Seal validates us, secures us in Christ, confirms us as anointed in Christ and is a sign and guarantee of God’s ownership of our
lives.
EACH ONE OF US ANOINTED is Very Unique and All Needed by God for His plans and for The BUILDING of the KINGDOM OF GOD.
ANOINTING IN OLD TESTAMENT symbolic of OUTPOURING OF HOLY SPIRIT in the N.T.
ANOINTING in OT: In the Old Testament the pouring out of oil (6 quarts) upon a chosen one’s head was full of tremendous significance! It was a outward sign of the Holy Spirit empowering one for his duty and responsibility; representing God’s calling for divine use; representing consecration, and the enabling of the chosen one to perform service for God.
It represented the endowment of Holy Ghost presence and power to do God’s will.
Although they were anointed with the oil, and the inward work of the Holy Spirit
came upon them, He was not promised to permanently remain in their life as He is promised in the NT.
The Holy Spirit could come and would go depending upon their position and faithfulness to God, which is unlike the New Testament Promise. He remains forever in us and with us.

The three main “chosen people” who were anointed in the Old Testament were priests, kings and prophets, But NOT THE ONLY ONES.
ANOINTED AS A PRIEST: For their duties of sacrifices in the temple and worship.
Moses is commanded by God to anoint Aaron and His sons as priest.
Exodus 40:12“Bring Aaron and his sons to the entrance to the tent of meeting and wash them with water. 13Then dress Aaron in the sacred garments, ANOINT HIM and CONSECRATE him so he may SERVE me as priest. 14Bring his sons and dress them in tunics. 15ANOINT them just as you ANOINTED their father, so “they may SERVE Me” as priests.
ANOINTED AS A KING: Kings were anointed to rule and reign wisely.
1 Samuel 16:12,13 The Lord said to the prophet Samuel, Arise, ANOINT HIM
(David); for this is he. Then Samuel took the HORN OF OIL (representing the
strength and power of the Sprit) and ANOINTED DAVID in the presence of his
brothers; and the SPIRIT OF THE LORD came mightily upon David from that day forward.
ANOINTED AS A PROPHET: For the responsibility of “proclaiming God’s Word.” So too, Elijah, is commanded to anoint Elisha as prophet.
1 Kings 19:16 When you get there, .. ANOINT ELISHA to succeed you as prophet. In the OT EVEN “THE TABERNACLE,” the place of worship and “EVERYTHING” in
it was “ANOINTED” by Moses to consecrate its use to the LORD:
Leviticus 8:10 Next, Moses took the anointing oil and anointed the tabernacle and everything in it; and so he consecrated them. 11He sprinkled some of the oil on the altar seven times, anointing the altar and all its utensils, and the basin with

its stand, to consecrate them. 12He also poured some of the anointing oil on Aaron’s head and anointed him to consecrate him.
The Same Anointing of the Holy Ghost, for Priest, King, and Prophet resides within you today; you who believe in Jesus.
1Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen people (for special service/anointed), a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people to be his very own and to proclaim the wonderful deeds of the one who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
The ANOINTING IN YOUR LIFE IS MULTIFACETED....
God’s Anointing was not limited to empower only the Prophet, Priest and King.
Exodus 31:2,3 Bezelel.. (Anointed with Artistic Design) "See, I have chosen Bezalel...and filled him with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, with
understanding, and ability with all kinds of craftsmanship to design artistic works in gold, silver, and bronze, to cut gemstones...
Numbers 11:16,17 (Elders Anointed to Bear Burdens) And the LORD said to Moses, Gather unto me seventy man of the elders of Israel... and I will take of the Spirit which is upon thee and will put it upon them; and they shall bear the burden of the people with thee, that thou bear it not alone.
Numbers 24:2 (Anointed For Prophetic Poetry) And Balaam lifted up his eyes, ... and the Spirit of God came upon him and he proclaimed his poem.
“How beautiful are your tents Jacob, your dwelling places Israel...” Deuteronomy 34:9 (Anointed To Lead People Wisely - Military Leader) And
Joshua ... was full of the Spirit of wisdom; for Moses laid his hands upon him..
Judges 3:9-10 (Othniel Anointed as Judge/and to have Victory at war)
And when the children of Israel cried unto the LORD, the LORD raise up a deliverer .. Othniel... And the Spirit of the LORD came upon him and he judged Israel and he went to war...

Judges 6:34 (Anointed To Defeat The Enemy) But the Spirit of the LORD came upon Gideon..
Judges 14:6 (Anointed with Unusual Strength) And the Spirit of the LORD came mightily upon him (Sampson), so that he tore the lion apart with his bear hands AND massacred an entire army of Philistines using only the jawbone of a donkey.
Samuel 10:6,10 (Anointing to become a New Person) And the Spirit of the LORD will come upon them (the prophets) and thou (Saul) shall prophesy with them and you shall be turned into another man...(Saul as King)
THESE CARRIED OUT THEIR SEVICE AND ACCOMPLISHED THEIR CALLING not in mere humans strength but THROUGH THE ANOINTING or outpouring
of the Holy Spirit.
DID YOU KNOW? JESUS in His humanity needed the “outpouring” or Baptism with the Spirit to be fully anointed as man and for Him to operate in the power of the Spirit in His mission and ministry.
JESUS DID NOT START HIS PUBLIC MINISTRY UNTILL AFTER HIS BAPTISM of Water and THEN The OUTPOURING OR DESCENDING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT UPON HIM.
Matthew 3:16 ... as soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. Suddenly the heavens were opened, and he (John) saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and resting on him.
Acts 10:38 God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power.
He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.
Luke 4:16-17 So He came to Nazareth... He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read.
Luke 4: 18-19 (Jesus) The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to

the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord...
MULTI-FACETED DIVERSE MANIFESTATIONS OF THE ANOINTING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT is Still for today!
No Limit to the Diverse Manifestations of His Anointing and power and Presence in YOUR LIFE and in the Body of Christ.
1 Peter 4:10 Each believer has received (a gift) EMPLOY IT AS GOOD MANAGERS OF THE MULTIFACETED GRACE of God.
God desires to operate in your life in unique and in wonderful and even supernatural ways!
He wants to do marvelous things in You, with You and through You .. BELIEVE!
John 14:12 Truly, truly, I tell you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I am doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.
THE HOLY SPIRIT “EQUIPS” YOU (inspiring, energizing, empowering) AND “GIVES” or releases in YOU SPECIAL GIFTS to be used.
1 Corinthians 12:4 There are different gifts, but the same Spirit. 5There are different ministries, but the same Lord. 6There are different ways of working, but the same God works all things in all men.
7Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good
Corinthians 12:6 ...and we can each do different things. Yet the same God works in all of us and helps us in everything we do.
1 Corinthians 12:7 The evidence of the Spirit's presence is given to all for the common good of everyone.

God takes ordinary people WHO BELIEVE and ANOINTS THEM to do extraordinary things!
God has special assignments for our lives, and He has provided the necessary spiritual means for us to be successful. The means is called “THE ANOINTING!”
Out of Your Inner Most Being Shall Flow Rivers of Living Water... John 7:38
The Bible list at least 20 plus manifestations of God’s different gifts in believers that are empowered through His Anointing in your life.
Some are more natural or practical and some more supernatural. These are manifestations of His Active Presence or Anointing, and His empowerment in your life for service.
The Gifts are not limited to only 20 manifestations! We ALL have the anointing of the Holy Spirit working in different ways and at different times in our life. We need to engage and use what we have.
THE HOLY SPIRIT EMPOWERS YOU WITH SPECIAL GIFTS TO FUNCTION IN
DIFFERENT WAYS:
Knowing that we are Anointed We are to actively welcomed and expect Him
to operate in marvelous way.
1. Word of wisdom (1 Cor. 12:8) Supernatural revelation given by the Holy Spirit concerning the plan of God that will come to pass. Knowing and Speaking hidden things. Things He is going to do. Example: God revealed to Noah the coming of the flood.
2. Word of knowledge (1 Cor. 12:8) Facts of things that now exist or did exist, supernaturally revealed that we would have no natural way of knowing. Things that your eyes have not seen or ears have not heard. Example: Jesus and the woman at the well. John 4:18
3. Discerning of spirits (1 Cor. 12:10; Acts 8:20-23) Insight into the spirit world where the 5 senses cannot go. This gift can help the church

choose proper men or women for their ministries. Peter sees Simons impure motives in the Book of Acts chapter 8.
4. Gift of Faith (1 Cor. 12:9; Acts 3:6) One can supernaturally and against all odds believe God for a miracle; and receive the miracle.
5. Working of miracles (1 Cor. 12:10; Acts 6:8) The Holy Spirit does the supernatural miracle through you! It is the power of the anointing surging through you.
6. Gifts of healing (1 Cor. 12:9, 28; Acts 28:1-10) Given to supernaturally heal the sick and destroy the works of the devil in the human body. Nothing to do with medical science or prescribed treatments. It comes by laying on of hand; anointing with oil; speaking the Word, etc.
7. Prophecy (1 Cor. 12:10; 1 Thess. 1 Cor. 14:3) You are not foretelling the future. You are “speaking for another”... for God through His anointed words to either edify, comfort or exhort. Supernatural utterance that gives the mind of the Holy Spirit.
8. Gift of Tongues (for public ministry) (1 Cor. 12:10; 1 Cor. 14:23) Supernatural utterance which comes from God through the Person of the Holy Spirit. It is meant for public ministry, not personal devotion.
9. Interpretation of tongues (1 Cor. 12:10; 14:13-33) Interpretation and rendering a message from God intelligible that was given forth in a language that is not known.
10. Administration (1 Cor. 12:28; Acts 6:2-3)
11. Service/Helping (Rom. 12:7; 2 Tim. 1:16-18, 1 Cor. 12:28)
12. Teaching (Rom. 12:7; Eph. 4:11-14)
13. Encouragement (Rom. 12:8; Heb. 10:24-25)
14. Giving (Rom. 12:8; 1 Cor. 13:3; Acts 4:32-35)

24. ALL OF US ARE GIFTED and ANOINTED TO LOVE! Believe it or not! (Romans 5:5) GOD’S LOVE has been POURED OUT into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us. Therefore we have the ANOINTING to genuinely love people with the Love of Christ.
Too many in the Body of Christ are believing lies. Living unfruitful lives because they believe they have little or nothing to offer.
What you think is little can make a BIG difference in someone else life and also in the Kingdom of God.
Moses small stick when it was used did the trick because Moses was anointed for the job! The boy’s small loaves of bread fed the multitude of 5,000... David’s 5 small stones killed a giant when he threw them...A small jawbone of a donkey in Samson’s hand killed a Philistine army... when God’s anointing is with you, you will accomplished through Christ more than the natural man could ever do! Have Faith!
USE THE ANOINTING YOU HAVE! Step out in Faith! GOD HAS NOT OVERLOOKED YOU! BE CONFIDENT IN CHRIST! USE YOUR GIFTS AND POUR OUT THE OIL INTO OTHER PEOPLE’S LIVES, NO MATTER HOW LITTLE YOU THINK IT IS! JUST ONE TOUCH OF THE ANOINTING IN YOUR LIFE CAUSES HUGE THINGS TO HAPPEN. YOU ARE IMPORTANT TO GOD!

The WIDOW’S OIL MULTIPLIED as it KEPT FLOWING...
2 KINGS 4: 1-7 1The wife of a man from the company of the prophets cried out to Elisha, “Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that he revered the Lord. But now his creditor is coming to take my two boys as his
slaves.”2Elisha replied to her, “How can I help you? Tell me, what do you have in your house?”“
Your servant has nothing there at all,” she said, “except a small jar of
olive oil.”3Elisha said, “Go around and ask all your neighbors for empty jars.
Don’t ask for just a few. 4Then go inside and shut the door behind you and
your sons. Pour oil into all the jars, and as each is filled, put it to one
side.”5She left him and shut the door behind her and her sons. They brought
the jars to her and she kept pouring. 6When all the jars were full, she said to her son, “Bring me another one.” 6But he replied, “There is not a jar
left.” Then the oil stopped flowing.7She went and told the man of God, and he said, “Go, sell the oil and pay your debts. You and your sons can live on what is left.”
If you want to Flow in the Holy Ghost and His Anointing and see amazing works of the Holy Spirit happen through your life then pour yourself into other lives... by prayer, by giving, by encouragement, by help, by prophetic words, etc.
Message: Ephesians 4 In light of all this, here’s what I want you to do. .... I want you to get out there and walk- better yet, run- on the road God called you to travel. I don’t want anyone strolling off, down some path that goes no way. And mark that you do this with humility and discipline – not in fits and starts, but steadily pouring yourselves out for each other

in acts of love,....You were called to travel the same road and in the same direction so stay together both outwardly and inwardly! You have one Master, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father, who rules over all, works through all, and is present in all.

2 Corinthians 3:4-6 And we have such trust through
Christ toward God. Not that we are sufficient of
ourselves to think of anything as being from
ourselves but our sufficiency is from God, who also
made us sufficient as ministers of the “New Covenant” not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life! Amen!
The Spirit causes that which was dead and inoperative in us to become alive. He quickens us and causes us to LIVE! He Empowers us with Divine Life!
Paul had no self confidence in what he could do. His confidence was in the power and sufficiency of the Holy Spirit Who was graciously supplied to him; Who gives Life and empowers believers to live for Christ and serve Him.
The wonderful Holy Spirit is “The Gift” and “The Promise” of God in the New Covenant of Grace. He is the Gift who comes with inward working transforming power.
Acts 2:38 On the Day of Pentecost: Peter replied, “Each of you must repent of your sins and turn to God, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. Then you will receive the Gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 ”This Promise” is to YOU and to YOUR CHILDREN, and even to the Gentiles, TO ALL who have been called by the Lord our God.”

The Bible teaches that there are two very separate and distinct experiences of the Holy Spirit in a believer’s life.

1. There is a “Born Again” experience by the Holy Spirit called regeneration. This gives you Spiritual Life in God and makes you a New Creature in Christ.
2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away; behold, the new has come into being. You are born
from above. You are born of God! You become a new person in Christ! You are
what the Bible calls “Saved.” And the Holy Spirt comes to indwell you personally and permanently!
1 John 5 Everyone who believes Jesus is the Christ is born of God...(the second birth).
John 3:3 Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is “born again” he can not see the kingdom of God.
John 3:5 Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I tell you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the Kingdom of God,
John 3:6 Flesh is born of flesh, and spirit is born of Spirit. Do not be amazed that I say, You must be born again.
The Holy Spirit Remains With and In You Forever!
John 14:16 And I will pray the Father and He will give you another Helper and

1 Corinthians 6:19 Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy
Spirit WHO IS IN YOU, whom you have received from God? You are not your own...
2. There is a “Baptism with the Holy Spirit” like on the Day of Pentecost (Acts 2:
4-8) where the Holy Spirit is “poured out upon” you by Jesus Himself and is
most often evidenced with speaking in tongues or prophesy.
The Baptism with the Holy Spirit is a very definite experience after being “born again” whereby the Holy Spirit “comes upon” the believer to “empower”
him for the Christian life.
It is referred to as the Spirit “coming upon,” or being “poured out upon,” or a
“falling on” or “filling” the believer in a sudden and supernatural manner.
The wonderful ministry of the Holy Spirit as our “Comforter/Helper” who indwells all
believers (John 14:17), is greatly intensified as a result of the Baptism with the Holy Spirit.

Joel 2:28 “And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will “pour out” my Spirit on all flesh (mankind) and your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will
dream dreams, your young men will see visions, even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit.
Matthew 3:11 (John the Baptist) Indeed I baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will Baptize you with the Holy Spirit and Fire!
Jesus emphasized the importance of being Baptized with the Holy Spirit.
Acts 1:4,5 “While being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to leave Jerusalem, but to wait for what the Father had Promised, of which He said,” you have heard Me speak. For John baptized with water, but you will be Baptized with the Holy Spirit, not long from now. (10 days after his ascension) 8But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has “come upon you,” and you will
be My witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
The purpose is for a “greater empowering” of the Holy Spirit in your life to be His witness; to live for Him; and to fulfill God’s calling upon your life.
Acts 8: 12-21 AFTER STEPHAN’S DEATH PHILIP PREACHES IN SAMARIA
Acts 8 Philip... went down to Samaria to preach...People received Christ and were baptized in water. Now the apostles who were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the Word of God, they sent Peter and John to them and they prayed for
them that they might receive the Holy Spirit. For as yet He had “fallen upon” none of them.
10 YEARS AFTER PENTECOST: In Cornelius’ house...
Acts 10: 36-48 Cornelius, a military man, has an angelic visitation and was told to
send for Peter to share the plan of salvation. Cornelius invited his relatives and friends to hear Peter preach on salvation. While Peter was still speaking ... the Holy Spirit “Fell Upon” all those who heard the Word. ... the “ Gift of the Holy Spirit”

had been “poured out” on the Gentles. For they were speaking with tongues and magnifying God.
ABOUT 20 YEARS AFTER PENTECOST: With Paul in Ephesus
Acts 19:1, 6 ...Paul having passed through the upper country came to Ephesus, and found certain disciples: 2and he said unto them, Did ye receive the Holy Spirit when ye believed? And they said unto him, nay, we did not so much as hear whether the Holy Spirit was given. 6And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Spirit “came upon” them; and they spake with tongues, and
prophesied. 7And they were in all about twelve men.
Luke 11:13 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father GIVE THE HOLY SPIRIT TO THOSE WHO ASK HIM.
The amazing life changing difference between the Old Covenant and the New Covenant is that God Himself through the Holy Spirit takes permanent residence in
power in every believer. He enables and empowers the believer to be a an effective witness and fruitful servant for Christ.
The Holy Spirit enables you TO BECOME ALL and TO DO ALL that GOD IS CALLING YOU TO and ASKING YOU TO DO in Christ.
YOU ARE ANOINTED!
Because of the Holy Spirit’s presence in your life YOU ARE what the Bible calls “ANOINTED BY GOD!”

Definition of Anoint: Properly, to smear or to rub with oil (a hands on experience). Merriam-Webster: “to choose” by or as if by divine election.
We see this very clearly in the Old Testament. The “pouring of oil upon” a chosen one‘s head.
This “Anointing” with oil was very significant. This one is “Chosen” by God and the pouring of oil represents the out pouring of the Holy Spirit’s presence upon his
life for empowerment to accomplish that for which he has been chosen for. In the O.T. “THE ANOINTED ONE” was prophesied to come.
God’s repeatedly revealed to His people in the Old Testament that a “mashiakh-Heb.”
or “Messiah” which means The “Anointed” would come and rule forever on the throne of David.
Acts 3:18 .... Peter preached this on Pentecost ... GOD foretold by the mouth of all the prophets, that “His Christ” (His Messiah, His Anointed) would suffer.
Jesus fulfills all prophecy and is “The Messiah” or “The Anointed One” or “The Christ.”
The Holy Spirit was so marvelously smeared upon the life of Jesus - that He had the Holy Spirit or Anointing without measure. ( John 3:34)
Jesus had the fullest measure of the Spirit in His life. The Fullest Anointing possible. The fullness of God was in and upon Him.
Colossians 1:19 For God was pleased to have ALL HIS FULLNESS dwell IN HIM... He was THE long awaited “ANOINTED ONE.”
This is important for us to grasp.
THIS IS GREAT NEWS FOR YOU AND ME!
When we receive JESUS the CHRIST in our heart we become SHARERS OR PARTAKERS OF THAT SAME “Christ” ANOINTING!

Psalm 133:2 For harmony is as precious as the anointing oil that was poured over Aaron's head, that ran down his beard and onto the border of his robe.
Christ, The Anointed One, is the head of His Body of Believers. His Anointing flows to each member of the body as the anointing oil of Aron flowed down his head.
We become partakers of His Anointing, His Holy Spirit.
Colossians 1:27... Christ in YOU (The Anointed One in you!), The Hope of Glory! You
are now a chosen one! Hallelujah a chosen one in Christ!
WE ARE ANOINTED OR CHOSEN .... to be “set apart” for GOD HIMSELF .... for holy living... For God’s service” and He empowers us with the Holy Ghost to fulfill His purpose, His call, His will and works for our lives.
PROBLEM AT LARGE IN THE CHURCH:
TOO MANY CHRISTIANS DO NOT SEE THEMSELVES AS ANOINTED by God or specially CHOSEN for anything ... or EMPOWERED, EQUIPPED, QUALIFIED, ENABLED or GIFTED by God for SPECIAL SERVICE (ministry); but the Truth is God has CHOSEN YOU IN CHRIST AND QUALIFIED, EQUIPPED, ENABLED and EMPOWERED YOU to fulfill His plan and will for your life.
He has INVESTED HIS LIFE IN YOU... HOW VALUABLE AND PRICELESS! THIS QUALIFIES YOU TO BE His child and to do what He has called you to do.
YOU now have DIVINE CREDENTIALS in CHRIST and You are on Divine Assignment! CREDENTIALS tell who you are and what you are qualified to do.
The Holy Spirit has certified you as a “Christ-ian” for the Christ-life and service. You are equipped to REPRESENT “The Anointed One.” To ACT in behave of and
SPEAK in behalf of The “Anointed” One. You are anointed and enabled, entrusted and empowered to accomplish God’s perfect will.
What weakens the Church:
Too many think only those behind the pulpit or behind a microphone or leading
worship or perhaps only the prophet or evangelist are the Anointed Ones.

But YOU who believe in Christ have “HIS SPIRIT or “HIS ANOINTING” in YOU and therefore You have been chosen TO BE FRUITFUL AND EFFECTIVE AND USEFUL in HIS KINGDOM.
2 Corinthians 1: 21,22 But it is God who establishes both us and you in Christ. (makes us stand firm) He has “anointed” us, 22 placed His “Seal” on us, and “put His Spirit in our hearts” as a deposit, “guaranteeing” what is to come.
The Holy Spirit as our Seal validates us, secures us in Christ, confirms us as anointed in Christ and is a sign and guarantee of God’s ownership of our
lives.
EACH ONE OF US ANOINTED is Very Unique and All Needed by God for His plans and for The BUILDING of the KINGDOM OF GOD.
ANOINTING IN OLD TESTAMENT symbolic of OUTPOURING OF HOLY SPIRIT in the N.T.
ANOINTING in OT: In the Old Testament the pouring out of oil (6 quarts) upon a chosen one’s head was full of tremendous significance! It was a outward sign of the Holy Spirit empowering one for his duty and responsibility; representing God’s calling for divine use; representing consecration, and the enabling of the chosen one to perform service for God.
It represented the endowment of Holy Ghost presence and power to do God’s will.
Although they were anointed with the oil, and the inward work of the Holy Spirit
came upon them, He was not promised to permanently remain in their life as He is promised in the NT.
The Holy Spirit could come and would go depending upon their position and faithfulness to God, which is unlike the New Testament Promise. He remains forever in us and with us.

The three main “chosen people” who were anointed in the Old Testament were priests, kings and prophets, But NOT THE ONLY ONES.
ANOINTED AS A PRIEST: For their duties of sacrifices in the temple and worship.
Moses is commanded by God to anoint Aaron and His sons as priest.
Exodus 40:12“Bring Aaron and his sons to the entrance to the tent of meeting and wash them with water. 13Then dress Aaron in the sacred garments, ANOINT HIM and CONSECRATE him so he may SERVE me as priest. 14Bring his sons and dress them in tunics. 15ANOINT them just as you ANOINTED their father, so “they may SERVE Me” as priests.
ANOINTED AS A KING: Kings were anointed to rule and reign wisely.
1 Samuel 16:12,13 The Lord said to the prophet Samuel, Arise, ANOINT HIM
(David); for this is he. Then Samuel took the HORN OF OIL (representing the
strength and power of the Sprit) and ANOINTED DAVID in the presence of his
brothers; and the SPIRIT OF THE LORD came mightily upon David from that day forward.
ANOINTED AS A PROPHET: For the responsibility of “proclaiming God’s Word.” So too, Elijah, is commanded to anoint Elisha as prophet.
1 Kings 19:16 When you get there, .. ANOINT ELISHA to succeed you as prophet. In the OT EVEN “THE TABERNACLE,” the place of worship and “EVERYTHING” in
it was “ANOINTED” by Moses to consecrate its use to the LORD:
Leviticus 8:10 Next, Moses took the anointing oil and anointed the tabernacle and everything in it; and so he consecrated them. 11He sprinkled some of the oil on the altar seven times, anointing the altar and all its utensils, and the basin with

The Same Anointing of the Holy Ghost, for Priest, King, and Prophet resides within you today; you who believe in Jesus.
1Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen people (for special service/anointed), a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people to be his very own and to proclaim the wonderful deeds of the one who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
The ANOINTING IN YOUR LIFE IS MULTIFACETED....
God’s Anointing was not limited to empower only the Prophet, Priest and King.
Exodus 31:2,3 Bezelel.. (Anointed with Artistic Design) "See, I have chosen Bezalel...and filled him with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, with
understanding, and ability with all kinds of craftsmanship to design artistic works in gold, silver, and bronze, to cut gemstones...
Numbers 11:16,17 (Elders Anointed to Bear Burdens) And the LORD said to Moses, Gather unto me seventy man of the elders of Israel... and I will take of the Spirit which is upon thee and will put it upon them; and they shall bear the burden of the people with thee, that thou bear it not alone.
Numbers 24:2 (Anointed For Prophetic Poetry) And Balaam lifted up his eyes, ... and the Spirit of God came upon him and he proclaimed his poem.
“How beautiful are your tents Jacob, your dwelling places Israel...” Deuteronomy 34:9 (Anointed To Lead People Wisely - Military Leader) And
Joshua ... was full of the Spirit of wisdom; for Moses laid his hands upon him..

THESE CARRIED OUT THEIR SEVICE AND ACCOMPLISHED THEIR CALLING not in mere humans strength but THROUGH THE ANOINTING or outpouring
of the Holy Spirit.
DID YOU KNOW? JESUS in His humanity needed the “outpouring” or Baptism with the Spirit to be fully anointed as man and for Him to operate in the power of the Spirit in His mission and ministry.
JESUS DID NOT START HIS PUBLIC MINISTRY UNTILL AFTER HIS BAPTISM of Water and THEN The OUTPOURING OR DESCENDING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT UPON HIM.
Matthew 3:16 ... as soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. Suddenly the heavens were opened, and he (John) saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and resting on him.
Acts 10:38 God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power.
He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.
Luke 4:16-17 So He came to Nazareth... He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read.

MULTI-FACETED DIVERSE MANIFESTATIONS OF THE ANOINTING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT is Still for today!
No Limit to the Diverse Manifestations of His Anointing and power and Presence in YOUR LIFE and in the Body of Christ.
1 Peter 4:10 Each believer has received (a gift) EMPLOY IT AS GOOD MANAGERS OF THE MULTIFACETED GRACE of God.
God desires to operate in your life in unique and in wonderful and even supernatural ways!
He wants to do marvelous things in You, with You and through You .. BELIEVE!
John 14:12 Truly, truly, I tell you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I am doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.
THE HOLY SPIRIT “EQUIPS” YOU (inspiring, energizing, empowering) AND “GIVES” or releases in YOU SPECIAL GIFTS to be used.
1 Corinthians 12:4 There are different gifts, but the same Spirit. 5There are different ministries, but the same Lord. 6There are different ways of working, but the same God works all things in all men.
7Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good
Corinthians 12:6 ...and we can each do different things. Yet the same God works in all of us and helps us in everything we do.
1 Corinthians 12:7 The evidence of the Spirit's presence is given to all for the common good of everyone.

God takes ordinary people WHO BELIEVE and ANOINTS THEM to do extraordinary things!
God has special assignments for our lives, and He has provided the necessary spiritual means for us to be successful. The means is called “THE ANOINTING!”

The Bible list at least 20 plus manifestations of God’s different gifts in believers that are empowered through His Anointing in your life.
Some are more natural or practical and some more supernatural. These are manifestations of His Active Presence or Anointing, and His empowerment in your life for service.
The Gifts are not limited to only 20 manifestations! We ALL have the anointing of the Holy Spirit working in different ways and at different times in our life. We need to engage and use what we have.
THE HOLY SPIRIT EMPOWERS YOU WITH SPECIAL GIFTS TO FUNCTION IN
DIFFERENT WAYS:
Knowing that we are Anointed We are to actively welcomed and expect Him
to operate in marvelous way.
1. Word of wisdom (1 Cor. 12:8) Supernatural revelation given by the Holy Spirit concerning the plan of God that will come to pass. Knowing and Speaking hidden things. Things He is going to do. Example: God revealed to Noah the coming of the flood.
2. Word of knowledge (1 Cor. 12:8) Facts of things that now exist or did exist, supernaturally revealed that we would have no natural way of knowing. Things that your eyes have not seen or ears have not heard. Example: Jesus and the woman at the well. John 4:18
3. Discerning of spirits (1 Cor. 12:10; Acts 8:20-23) Insight into the spirit world where the 5 senses cannot go. This gift can help the church

choose proper men or women for their ministries. Peter sees Simons impure motives in the Book of Acts chapter 8.
4. Gift of Faith (1 Cor. 12:9; Acts 3:6) One can supernaturally and against all odds believe God for a miracle; and receive the miracle.
5. Working of miracles (1 Cor. 12:10; Acts 6:8) The Holy Spirit does the supernatural miracle through you! It is the power of the anointing surging through you.
6. Gifts of healing (1 Cor. 12:9, 28; Acts 28:1-10) Given to supernaturally heal the sick and destroy the works of the devil in the human body. Nothing to do with medical science or prescribed treatments. It comes by laying on of hand; anointing with oil; speaking the Word, etc.
7. Prophecy (1 Cor. 12:10; 1 Thess. 1 Cor. 14:3) You are not foretelling the future. You are “speaking for another”... for God through His anointed words to either edify, comfort or exhort. Supernatural utterance that gives the mind of the Holy Spirit.
8. Gift of Tongues (for public ministry) (1 Cor. 12:10; 1 Cor. 14:23) Supernatural utterance which comes from God through the Person of the Holy Spirit. It is meant for public ministry, not personal devotion.
9. Interpretation of tongues (1 Cor. 12:10; 14:13-33) Interpretation and rendering a message from God intelligible that was given forth in a language that is not known.

11. Service/Helping (Rom. 12:7; 2 Tim. 1:16-18, 1 Cor. 12:28)

Too many in the Body of Christ are believing lies. Living unfruitful lives because they believe they have little or nothing to offer.
What you think is little can make a BIG difference in someone else life and also in the Kingdom of God.
Moses small stick when it was used did the trick because Moses was anointed for the job! The boy’s small loaves of bread fed the multitude of 5,000... David’s 5 small stones killed a giant when he threw them...A small jawbone of a donkey in Samson’s hand killed a Philistine army... when God’s anointing is with you, you will accomplished through Christ more than the natural man could ever do! Have Faith!
USE THE ANOINTING YOU HAVE! Step out in Faith! GOD HAS NOT OVERLOOKED YOU! BE CONFIDENT IN CHRIST! USE YOUR GIFTS AND POUR OUT THE OIL INTO OTHER PEOPLE’S LIVES, NO MATTER HOW LITTLE YOU THINK IT IS! JUST ONE TOUCH OF THE ANOINTING IN YOUR LIFE CAUSES HUGE THINGS TO HAPPEN. YOU ARE IMPORTANT TO GOD!

your sons. Pour oil into all the jars, and as each is filled, put it to one

the jars to her and she kept pouring. 6When all the jars were full, she said to her son, “Bring me another one.” 6But he replied, “There is not a jar
left.” Then the oil stopped flowing.7She went and told the man of God, and he said, “Go, sell the oil and pay your debts. You and your sons can live on what is left.”
If you want to Flow in the Holy Ghost and His Anointing and see amazing works of the Holy Spirit happen through your life then pour yourself into other lives... by prayer, by giving, by encouragement, by help, by prophetic words, etc.
